Rocky Patel ALR Second Edition Toro cigars are produced in small quantities at Patel’s Tavicusa factory in Nicaragua. These cigars are rare for a few reasons. First, because Patel doesn’t release as many of these cigars into the market as he does other brands. Second, because these cigars are aged for 2 years- a defining feature of this smoke.
Although they follow the success of the original, the blend is completely new. The flavor profile is an eclectic mix of dark fruit, earth, toasted wood, and coffee. This series is also box-pressed, a personal favorite for creator Patel. The ALR Second Edition is a medium-full bodied cigar with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper enveloping Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos sourced from Rocky Patel’s own farms in Estelí and Condega, Nicaragua.
The name “A.L.R.” stands for “Aged, Limited, and Rare,” highlighting the unique production process where each cigar is aged for two years post-rolling to enhance the flavors. This cigar received a remarkable rating of 96 from Cigar Aficionado in 2023!
