FONSECA CIGARS

Fonseca by My Father

For 45 years, Fonseca Cigar Lines was owned by Quesada. Before Quesada owned the line, the brand was established in 1892 in Cuba by Francisco E. Fonseca. Francisco was an innovator in the cigar industry. He is credited with having the idea to wrap cigars in a foil tube as well as a Japanese-style paper. This design was intended to protect the cigar from damage. My Father, one of the most successful and well-known companies in the cigar business took over the Fonseca brand and reworked the line.

Fonseca cigars are a reimaging of the classic Cuban heritage cigar brand, My Father. When My Father acquired the Fonseca cigar brand, they redefined it with their expert cigar-making techniques and complexity that drive the My Father brand. Fonseca brings and fresh identity to the name that has been long associated with elegance and tradition.

Handcrafted in Nicaragua, Fonseca by My Father features a reddish brown Corojo ‘99 Rosado wrapper that is grown in the Jalapa region. This medium to full-body cigar offers a balanced flavor profile that is accessible for new smokers while still delivering the richness long-time cigar smokers crave. From the first draw, expect notes of My Father’s signature pepper as well as notes of wood, earth, and cream. The Fonseca was named one of the Top 25 Cigars in 2020 and earned a 93-point rating.
